I'm always inspired to go with the seasons.
And as it's getting colder, I seem to seek comfort in the look (at least) of some of my favourite cookies. Jam cookies are some of my favourite cookies ever and I wanted to incorporate them into a miniature set with a rustic wooden tray.
Drawing inspiration from Swedish gingerbread cookies, my set also includes iced cookies in that flavour with simple white icing decorations. They are my favourite kind as far as Christmas gingerbread cookies go, I prefer the icing to be predominantly white and simple. Like snow.
This set also includes different types of jam cookies; thumbprint cookies, Linzer cookies and Argentine inspired (where I'm from) cookies with jam; as well as cookies dipped in chocolate like the heart-shaped sugar cookies, the pretzels and madeleines.
The wooden tray is also handmade by me and I left it bare to be able to add colour if necessary to my own and to leave the option open to whoever adopts the set, in case they want to match it to their existing furniture or accessories.
I've also been busy working on some custom orders and on restocking some of my jewellery items like my mismatched "Melting Snowman Cookie Earrings", which see super cute sugar cookies with marshmallow snowmen trying to hold themselves together as they melt away.
The idea for this design came to me last year and I just had to create it; I love their little surprised faces and how one's melted marshmallow body is literally dripping off the cookie.
Both my miniature Christmas cookie set and my melting Snowman earrings are available on my Etsy Shop.
If instead you're interested in learning how I make my miniature food, please refer to my book "Miniature Cake Creations".
Thank you so much for reading and I'll catch you next time,
Love, Mai
