Let's have a party!

I don't if it was the amount of negativity flooding social media these days or just a craving for chocolate, that made me work on a set of birthday party food.

The theme was chocolate and pastels!

In my mind, the girl having the party either made or ordered food that was either chocolate flavoured or covered in it.

The subtle pastel colours can be seen in the cake sprinkles, the candles, the cutlery, the meringues and if you look closely, the stripes of icing on the chocolate glazed doughnuts.

This set includes:

• 1 Chocolate cake with 2 slices cut out. One of the slices is loose, the other comes in a ceramic plate and it's partly eaten!

• 8 Whole chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting

• 2 Partly eaten chocolate cupcakes in their wrapper

• 5 Chocolate iced doughnuts, one of which is partly eaten

• 5 Chocolate filled doughnuts, one of which is partly eaten

• 1 miniature metal knife with frosting

• 1 miniature metal spoon with cake crumbs

• 7 miniature candles with frosting

• 1 miniature tray with assorted cookies (some may be bitten)

• 2 Paper doilies

• 10 miniature meringues in assorted colours

One of the most satisfying things about making miniature food, is arranging it for a photo-shoot. That's when they really come to life and you find yourself drooling more than you'd want to ^_^

This is why all the party food comes loose so you can have fun arranging it in your own miniature house/furniture with other miniature food you already have and take the most mouthwatering pictures.

Bite into life like you bite into a cupcake :)

I really recommend using tweezers to pick them up!

Previously on my "polymer clay life"...

To help the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek (Cornwall) during these difficult times, I sculpted a seal from polymer clay with the intention of selling it and donating a large percentage to the sanctuary.

It all happened very fast so I didn't get a chance to come here and post about it, but I am very pleased that my girl found a new, loving home very quickly and she has settled in nicely :)

I personally visited the Sanctuary twice and although I loved seals before, they totally melted my heart and I had a very hard time coming back home...so it was breaking my heart that zoos and charities like the Sanctuary weren't getting any financial help from the government.

Sculpting seals was something I had started doing so it came at a great moment in my life; and I'd like to continue to do so because when I do, I feel like I'm in heaven!
